As you all know Filo is an EdTech startup with the aim to connect 100 million students with Tutors. It was Founded by Imbesat Ahmad, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, Shadman Anwer, an alumnus of IIT-Delhi, and Rohit Kumar, an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. It was started on 30th November 2020. In a span of 1 year, Filo has 1.3 million users.

Filo provides students a platform where students can connect to tutors in less than 60 seconds via live call, and that too any time. Whether it be 4.00 am in the morning. Isn’t that great?

It is very overwhelming to be associated with such an ever-growing rocketship.

But how did I reach here? Let us get into it.

It was the month of May, of the year 2021 when I was in the 3rd year of my engineering, and for people who read this blog in 2030 or so. They may not be knowing about Covid Pandemic during 2020s. So this was time when the pandemic was at its peak and everyone was at home. College turned remote and I applied to Filo for an internship and Founder and CEO, Imbesat Ahmad himself hired me for a content Internship.

I worked remotely till September 2021. From 1st, October 2021, I joined Filo from its Office based in Gurugram(formerly Gurgaon).

For the next three months, I learned Python, DSA, Django. I did two projects in Django. You can check information about the same here.

After three months, At the start of January 2022, I asked founding members if there is an opportunity for me in Tech. Luckily the founders gave me a chance, and my Tech journey started on 7th January.

I can never forget the happiness on my face when I got node from founders.

Throughout my three months, I was constantly in touch with Anupam Nirwan, Senior Software Engineer at Filo. Without his guidance, my journey would not have been possible.

There may be a question why I am writing this blog on 20th, Feb besides the fact that I joined Tech profile from 7th. This is because….

When I joined I was not able to contribute that much but after some 30 days, getting comfortable with the environment, team, and contributing to Filo. So penned it late.

What is the most important thing here?

It's the mentor who guides you like an angel.

Keep searching for your mentor, keep exploring and never give up. If your intentions are right, things will happen.

That was all about it.

This is Emad signing off!

Keep Learning!
